The XTS is a really good looking car. I think it's the proper blend of old Caddy and new Cadillac. The fact that they make one with a twin-turbo V6 and AWD just makes it that much more appealing. I haven't driven one yet, but on paper it sounds like an American A8.

Go look at one in person. You'd be shocked by the size.

The rear end of this car looks awful, though.

This, and every other new Cadillac is ruined by the "Cue" infotainment system. It really, actually ruins the cars. They drive great but how can you live with a car like that when doing simple tasks like changing the AC speed is a PITA?

I have seen it in person. It has presence. I'm impressed.

I don't mind it, really.

When Cadillac does it, it's a pita. When BMW does it, it's "progress"...

It's... bland, but not really offensive in any way.

Its FWD based AWD so thats kind of a downer. I concur that it looks great (heck, I'd own one), and it has some nice features along with the price tag too. But, its not purpose built to be a flagship car and Cadillac apparently doesn't think so either.
I also keep hearing that the gauges suck and CUE sucks too.

It's not quite an American A8, but it's pretty damn good. I personally prefer the CTS (RWD, better looks IMO, more power), but the XTS is a good car as well.

Saw one with a landau roof on it today. Honestly don't like it, I think the Lacrosse looks more interesting. The XTS just looks awkward to me.

I don't know, it just seems like they had to get to lunch while designing the vehicle and just gave up on it. I think it's a bit beyond bland in person.

The beltline is just too high for me to be attracted to it.

I wouldn't say it's the flagship, right now that's the CTS. But it does have some presence to it. I can deal with CUE, compared to all of the other difficult "one-source" lux control systems they all suck, it just barely moreso.

You're just talking out of your ass there. The capacitive touch buttons are complete crap to use.
Regarding the rest of the XTS, its looks are wrongly proportioned if you ask me. The FWD nature of the car is too obvious. I'm not criticizing the fact that it's front wheel drive (the people who buy it couldn't care less and it's not the point of the car at all), just the effect it has on the exterior appearance of the car. Specifically, the cabin forward look with the wheels so close to the doors, most of the nose being front overhang and too much trunk.
To look better it needs a less frumpy nose and a trimmed rear end.
The Elmiraj concept nails it. Of course, as a concept, its features are exaggerated, but if even half of this car's style makes it into Cadillac's future line-up, they'll have winners on their hands.

I think all three of them look good (XTS, LaCrosse, and Impala), I just like the presence it has going down the road.

Like you said, that doesn't leave much in the way of possible new cars...

You should just buy a turbo NA Miata, brah

Nice Impala bro.

I wish they'd make an SS with the same setup!

I'd be okay with that. I'm not okay with putting CUE and some leather in an Impala, charging $45-70k and calling it a Cadillac.

I hate it in all its forms, from any car make. Every time I have a rental with an infotainment system, especially one with capacitive touch, I want to tear my hair out after 30 minutes of driving and using the car.

If only they sold the CTS with the Twin-Turbo V6 and AWD. That car would be damn near perfect.

I'm not sure anyone would buy the AWD version. The CTS has made its market and that doesn't usually include AWD performance.

I dig this thing. No, it's not a canyon carver, but it's not meant to be, although the V Sport handles itself respectably in the twisties. Just a stately, handsome, unique new-school American cruiser with some serious gt up n go when needed. It has character.
